THE HUICHOL PEOPLE
Known for their intricate beadwork, the Huichol (or Wixárika) are an indigenous people of Mexico consisting of that primarily live in the remote areas of the Sierra Madre in the state of Jalisco, Nayarit, Zacatecas, and Durango, and beyond. The natural barrier of the mountains has protected the Huichol people from cultural intrusion for centuries. They strongly believe that, as human beings, we must be a steward of the Earth. All of our souls are linked and man should do his part to protect nature. Their culture and traditions still live on today.
